11.15.2011 Headshots: Thomas
Taking headshots was a first for me, but Thomas gave me the basics and totally helped me out. Thomas needed these pics for upcoming performances and I was excited to be able to do this!

1.29.2011 Fashion Photography: MilliLee Designs
I am in love with MilliLee Designs' latest collection of clothes. And I have no children of my own to put in these adorable clothes and fawn all over... So feel free to buy these up and request that I take photos of your children in these dresses. :)
These newest styles are part of the Jet Setter Collection and not only does each dress have a clever name, but the styles and materials are SO cute. See if you can tell which dress is the Austria Maria, or the Arrivederci Roma, the Paris Bound or Moroccan Retreat.
This was my second session taking pictures of Milli's designs...and this time around we got down to business. No models - just clothes in a vintage, jet setting style.

1.15.2011 Promotional Photos: Allan & Ashcraft
You remember the talented Allan Craig Miller that I recently took photos of? I was happy to know that he liked the first photos well enough that he wanted to schedule another session with his music partner - the other half of his duo - Hubie Ashcraft. That was a nice pat on the back for me - we know I need alot of that to keep me going... :)
Hubie and Allan are really great, easy-going guys. Our little crew trekked around town in various frigid locations and ended up in our local downtown tavern - which according to Wikipedia is a local landmark...and I was told by the bartender was the very first tavern in town. It was my first time entering through the doors of Rex's Rendevous, and I was not disappointed. The vintage booths and wall decor was all I could have hoped for. :)
If you didn't check out Allan's website before, be sure to take a look. http://www.allancraigmiller.com/

12.17.2010 The Year in Review :)
As the year winds down, (and I start to get sentimental) I thought it would be fun to take a look back at 2010... A year, for me, that is ending a whole lot different than it began...A year that has been by far my busiest year of photography since I decided to pick up a camera and see what I could do. I don't even know how I started doing this! I don't feel like I actively chose portrait photography - it just evolved into this. But lucky for indecisive little ol' me, I have friends whose requests for pictures have given me something that I really enjoy - and can keep learning and growing and creating...
I have learned so much this year and have been inspired by so many photographer friends (and strangers whose blogs I stalk!), and I am already so excited for some new things I am learning about and new things I want to try. I don't know if I will ever get to the level that I aspire to be!
So, here is my year in a review - a look at some photos from this year. I have tried to select pictures that I have not posted here before! Looking forward to 2011...

12.04.2010 Promotional Photos
Recently my friend, Rebecca, asked me to take promotional pictures of her friend Allan Craig Miller. Allan is a talented musician who plays in venues all over Indiana, Michigan and in Music City, USA itself: Nashville, Tennessee. Rebecca is in the process of updating Allan's website (http://www.allancraigmiller.com/) and they need some updated pictures that help convey Rebecca's vision for the site. :)
So, Rebecca and I scouted out locations and crossed our fingers that it wouldn't be absolutely freezing outside. The locations worked out great...the weather not as much! But, we toughed it out.
We'll see what pics turn up on the website, on the ACM cd (!) and maybe even head shots for radio stations!

11.06.2010 Fashion Photography: MilliLee Designs
When we scheduled the MilliLee Designs Winter Collection photo session we were well into our Indian summer and enjoying unseasonably warm weather... and I woke up Saturday morning- the day of the session- to our very first frosty snow-fall! Although the temperatures were cold, it was a perfect backdrop and we were able to survive the cold due to a beautiful sunny day and (thankfully) a log school house to warm up in. Here are some of my favorite pictures from the day of our little models showing off Milli's newest designs:
