10.27.2010 Family Portraits

This is the third fall that I have taken pictures of my friend Tara and her daughters.  Each year we have tried out different locations and I told Tara I really liked this years session because we didn't do anything out in nature like we have in the past.  Our motivation to stay in sheltered "urban" areas, was the crazy wind storms we've had the last few days!  We braved the elements and I really liked the new locations. It was definitely a fun time.

I had to include this last one because I love how it really shows each of their personalities...although I don't think Tara will select it to go on their Christmas card, I think it's really cute.

10.25.2010 Family Portraits

It was a spur of the moment photo session!  We had been looking for a day that worked for both me and my friend, Heather to get together for pictures of her and her son.  Yesterday just happened to work out at the last minute for both of us and the weather couldn't have been better for our evening out. It felt more like we were just hanging out outside...although Cameron might disagree with that. He was VERY aware of the camera in between us. :)

10.20.2010 Children's Portraits: Talan

According to Talan's mom his photo session ended up looking like businessman by day, laker by night.  Talan knew what he was willing to do for these photos, and when he was ready to move on to the next location.  He used his props on his own and decided when his tie came off.  It was fun getting to know his personality during this little session...

10.20.2010 Family Portraits

I'm finding out that taking pictures of people is a nice way to hang out with friends you don't get to see that much! :)  This week, I did a family portrait session for my friend, Jodi.  She's been easy to work with since she knows what she wants - so I have enjoyed "working" with her and getting to see her more often!

10.17.2010 Children's Portraits: Emily

Another beautiful fall day and another session with a good friend's three year old grandaughter.  Emily just turned three this month and she is so much fun!  She loves to play outside and be silly and with the help of her grandma, we were able to catch some of that on camera.  She was a trooper following instructions and was rewarded at the end with alot of sugar - which made for some even sillier pictures! 

10.12.2010 Children's Portraits: Cali

Over the weekend, we took advantage of the unseasonably warm weather (85 degrees!) and I took some photos of my friend, Jodi's little girl.  It was funny to be asked by Jodi to take Cali's photos this fall and to realize that six (ish) years ago I took pictures of Jodi during her pregnancy with Cali with my old film SLR camera.

I knew Cali would be a great subject - she is a cutie.  Little did I know that she would be a natural model- barely any direction required from me!  (Which I kinda like)  Cali and her brother hunted for the perfect spots for photos while we set up and Cali had already practiced her favorite expressions.
