09.18.2011 Family Portraits

I was just waiting for the rain to let loose at any moment on Sunday evening as I met Kiley & Nick and their daughter, Emerlynn, to take family pictures.  But luckily the big raindrops did not fall until I was in my car driving home from this really enjoyable session!

Here are some of my favs... it's hard to choose...

9.11.11 Family Portraits

My good friend, Cami, was probably the first person to ever ask me to take portraits.  Probably 10 years ago when I just had an interest in learning a little something about photography she asked me to take engagement photos for her and her husband, then maternity photos of her in her first pregnancy, then family pictures, and childrens portraits... My need to do a good job for her has really pushed me forward in this hobby!   She has always been supportive and I feel like she is a huge reason why I'm doing portraits now.

On Sunday we did our annual photos of her 4 children - the oldest of which is 8... a fact that kills me... she was like OUR baby when she was born. :)  Love these kids... The 5 pics below were taken in about 5 minutes while we waited for the rain to stop so we could take the main picture for the big Christmas card idea that Cami has. :)

9.1.2011 Family Pictures

These pictures are a reminder of a lovely evening for me - and I hope they will be for Sarah's family too!  I spent a weekday evening several weeks ago with my co-worker, Sarah's family at their home on the lake.  We chatted, took pictures, and enjoyed the sunset on a cruise around the lake when we were finished.  Just going to share a couple of the pics from the evening...

8.31.2011 Children's Portraits: Emma

I don't even know how I'm gonna choose just a few pictures to post of my session with Emma.  She has so many expressions and we took so many pictures that I liked.  I'm so thankful for parents who really know how to bring out the best smiles and reactions from their children. :)

I also had this whimsical idea I wanted to try with children's portraits, and thought Emma would be the perfect subject to try out the little tent set-up.  Thanks so much to my dad who heard my silly little idea and had the structure built the same day.  He's the best.  Really.

8.28.2011 Senior Pictures: Sarah

On Sunday I did a summer session of senior pictures with Sarah.  We will also be doing four seasons of pictures throughout Sarah's senior year at WCHS.  With how much fun we had in our first session - I can't wait for the other three seasons. :)  Here are some of my favorites of Sarah... I love taking senior pictures!
