10.24.2012 Family Portraits

A perfect sunset  plus a perfect location right in this family's backyard made for some beautiful photos for this family session last week.  I loved the hazy sunshine and the orangey tones...plus so many adorable expressions.

I'm enjoying seeing this family grow up right before my camera lens/ right eye... meanwhile I'm holding my left eye closed so tightly while I snap picture after picture that it's twitching by the end of the session. Is there a term for this eyelid fatigue? Is it just me?  :)

I am totally in love with this next picture!  I love the way the girls are both looking at the camera while their mom & dad smile at each other... and then Reagan is crossing her eyes!  I laughed so hard when I saw that detail once I had the pictures loaded onto my computer! I love it.

10.21.2012 Family Portraits

Fall is by far the busiest season for family pictures.  Not only are the leaves and scenery beautiful outside, but everyone is starting the think about their Christmas card.  I'm a huge fan of photo Christmas cards - I love getting them in the mail.  Like my mother, I have started saving them in a Christmas photo box and every year when I get out my Christmas decor I have so much fun looking back through past years photos of family & friends.

The day turned out to be beautiful last weekend when we took this family's portraits.  Mindy had mentioned their family Christmas card, so we had some fun with that idea and made sure to get some framers for them as well. How do I luck out with so many beautiful subjects? :)

10.20.2012 Couple Portraits

One year and one week after Jason & Amanda were married, we took some portraits of them together in some of the exact locations of their wedding pictures.  It was a beautiful morning and a fun time for them to reminisce about the similarities of that day one year ago.  I've always thought the changing of seasons brings about so many old memories and I think the fall weather will always remind Jason & Amanda of their wedding day.

10.16.2012 Family Portraits

It seems like Indiana has the rainiest falls and then you get a beautiful day here or there. So, I felt like we really lucked out on Tuesday evening when I met up with my highschool friend, Lindsay, and her family to take some family pictures.  We had a beautiful evening to hang out in a field together. 

Lindsay's kids are all about the silly pictures and I wanted to include some of the photos that I felt really captured their sense of humor - one of them is the family looking pretty bummed that older brother has put them in "detention".  Loved that this was all his idea and he put their names on "the board" for the pic... hilarious.

Such a  beautiful family.
