3.18.2012 Engagement Photos: Kyle & Erin

I imagine when Kyle & Erin have been married for years & years and their kids look at their engagement pictures one of the things they will tell them about is the record breaking temperatures we had for a week in March in Indiana when the pictures were taken.  When we picked a date for these pictures several months ago we were thinking warm clothes and cozy pics in chilly weather... we had no idea it would be 80-something degrees!

Nearly all of these pictures are taken in Nappanee at the venue where Kyle & Erin will have their reception in a big barn in the country.  The venue is called The Farmhouse Weddings and it is amazing - every detail from the chandeliers in the barn, to the grounds surrounded by corn fields, and the beautifully furnished farmhouse is perfect.  I enjoyed the quiet surroundings and hearing the click clack of the horses pulling their buggies on the main road out front as we took these pictures.

2.26.2012 Newborn Portraits: Reese

Reese is already four weeks old!  My as-sister-ant, Hilary, and I spent Sunday afternoon with Reese and her family at their house taking pictures to document how petite and beautiful Reese is as a newborn baby.

These photos were so much fun to edit - what a beautiful little subject!

1.28.2012 Childrens Portraits: Marshall

It has been a really nice winter break from my photography hobby. :)  I love taking and editing photos, but I also love my down time!  So, here is my first post of 2012! 

My good friend from college came to town last weekend to visit and brought along her 6 month old son, Marshall.  It was my first time meeting him.  He has the most pleasant little personality and I loved watching Angie and Greg being parents - they are naturals!  We really had such a nice day together catching up - loved it.

It was cold and we had about one hour of daylight to capture Jack's personality.  Jack is the six year old son of my good friend, Anne.  Sometimes it just goes your way - Anne & I found so many adorable expressions in these quick photos.  Love them.

Man, were these guys troopers.  We hoped for the best as we headed out on a sprinkling Sunday afternoon for family pictures and we were pretty lucky under a canopy of pine trees for the first part of the pictures - but as we searched out other scenery and better lighting... we ended up pretty drenched and had to cut our losses and call it day!

11.25.2011 Family Portraits

My second session on Black Friday was this lovely family.  Erin was home from college for Thanksgiving so we scheduled a quick session of family portraits.  I don't think this session even felt like work...I had four fun, photogenic people that I barely had to direct. 

I should thank my mom for being my assitant at both sessions on Friday.  She was a great assistant...she even took a call from my as-sister-ant, Hilary, on the way.  I believe they were fighting over the job...and I think Hilary told her I was some kind of diva photographer, which is not true at all.
